God Only Sees The Good
While God is too good to comprehend the evil that men do, and while God knows all things, God chooses to show preference to certain few individuals.
Thus says the LORD, ‘Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My hand made all these things, thus all these things came into being’, declares the LORD. ‘But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word’. Isaiah 66:1-2
Let us concentrate on the last sentence here. The humble person is one who bows down before God in reverence. The humble person has overcome pride and self flattery. The humble person knows they are to be servants of the most high God. The humble know that they will be blessed and receive grace from God. “Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you".(James 4-10). “…God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble”. (1 Peter 5:5)
Contrite is a word that means feeling sorrow for a sin you have committed. It also carries the idea that remorse for committing that sin is very strong. Thus the contrite of spirit is the person that recognizes that they sinned before God, and they want to make things right with Him.
But why would we tremble at God’s words? This is another way of saying that we should take the Bible seriously. Very seriously. Everything we need concerning our salvation is given to us in the Bible (2 Peter 1:3). If we follow the Bible and let it be our guide through this life, we would be better off. Do not be like the person who treats their bible like a buffet restaurant. You know, the kind where you pick and choose what suits you the most, and just ignore the rest.
Let us help you to learn humility so you can make things right with God. Let us give you some guidance on how to be truly sorrowful for your actions, and show you how you can make them up to God. Let us help you learn to treat the Bible seriously enough to follow its guidance..
God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37). You must repent of your sins (Luke 13:3), you must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and you must be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then you must remain faithful and continue learning how to serve God (2 Peter 3:18). Let us help you on your spiritual journey. May God bless you in your study of His word.
