Listen And Be Careful
These are the words Moses spoke to the children of Israel right before they entered the promised land. In Deuteronomy Chapter Six we have several key phrases of instruction that were given to them that are just as much appropriate for us as it was for them. Moses said “ The LORD told me to give you these laws and teachings so you can obey them…” (CEV) verse 1). God gives us laws for us to do. God’s laws are not suggestions, but commands. If we want to go to heaven when we die, we need to obey God. Too many people ignore God’s laws, and too many churches do not emphasize the importance of keeping God’s commandments. And I mean ALL of them. Later in verse 3 we read: “O Israel, you should listen and be careful to do it, that it may be well with you…”(NASB) It is not a matter of just hearing God’s commandments, but keeping and doing them that is so important. In fact, God instructs us to be careful to make sure we understand, and do His laws. We must be careful to do them exactly has He has specified and we must be careful to do ALL of them. Too many “churches” allow people to leave some of God’s laws out. Those few churches that emphasize the keeping of all of God’s commandments are not popular with the masses. Many churches seek to please men instead of seeking to please God. Yes, there is a difference in all of these churches, and you should check them out if you want to be saved. You need to be careful to find a church that believes in the Bible as the authoritative and infallible (without error) WORD OF GOD. Find a church that believes and teaches what the Bible says. We must speak what the Bible speaks, and ONLY what the Bible speaks, and we must be careful to not leave anything out or be careful to not add to anything God said. Deuteronomy 4:2 “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.” These words written over 3500 years ago still apply to us today. Learn the word, don’t change, don’t add, don’t subtract, and keep God’s word. The best advise anyone can give comes from God Himself. Do you need some help in finding your spiritual guidance?
