This is dedicated to my friend, Becca, who has helped me keep my heart and mind on higher ground. She restored me when I was caught in a trespass, admonished me to be anxious for nothing when I worried, and set my feet back on the right path when I wandered from the way.

This poem is set to the tune of We Saw Thee Not

Inspired by Galatians 6.1-2

When from my sin I did not flee
When guilt had overtaken me
You sent me to God's house alone
Where I found mercy at His throne

When worry filled my heart with fear
When I could no more persevere
You led me to God's house of prayer
Where I unburdened all my care

When I had wandered from the way
When in my heart I'd gone astray
You found me on that wayward track
You saved my soul and brought me back

So if your brother goes astray
And if you fear he'll fall away
Don't wait for him to beg and plead
Go help him in his hour of need

(Chorus)
You take me to that higher ground
Where all my joy in Him I've found
No greater friend could I have found
That keeps my feet on higher ground
