Winterizing
Getting Prepared For Harsh Weather

INTRODUCTION
Before the harsh weather gets here, it is time to winterize our vehicles.
Our vehicle needs to be ready to operate when needed.
It is no fun to work on a vehicle when the weather is below freezing.
I know.
And, let’s not forget our homes.
We need to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Caution is usually taken when not necessary.
But to not be prepared is dangerous.
We buy insurance in the hope that we do not need it.
So, be prepared this winter.

What Does This Say About Us?
We pay more attention to our vehicles than our souls.
We allow our vehicles to take precedence over God.
Our possessions have taken control and direct our lives.
Let us look to see how we can protect our souls.

Check Your Anti-Freeze
We need to be filled with the right stuff or the results can be disastrous.
We need to be filled with:
THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL (Colossians 1:9)
THE SPIRIT (Acts 13:9)
JOY(Acts 13:52)
COMFORT (2 Corinthians 7:4)
FULLNESS OF GOD (Ephesians 3:19)

Check Your Heater Or Furnace
We need to transfer warmth
Be kindly affectionate with one another (Romans 12:10)
Praise can do this.
Prayer can do this.
Providing for others can do this.

Check Your Alarm Systems
You never know when you might need it.
CO2
Fire
Theft
We are to always be prepared
Watch for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming ( Matthew 24:42-51)

General Adjustments
Sometimes all we need is a little adjustment.
Our lives do not run smoothly all the time.
We need to set the timing:
Auto runs smoother with the right timing.
If not smooth, you might get backfire or sluggish performance.
We need to tune each other up. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Adjust Your Headlights
Improper alignment can cause dangerous situations.
Your lights do not properly light the way
Can be a hazard to other drivers.
Our light is to shine, but shine properly. (Matthew 5:16)
Should not force our light upon others, but upon their path.

Adjust The Brakes
Important to make vehicle go, but safer for it to stop when we need it to stop.
We should pray to God for the wisdom to know when to stop (James 1:5).
Controlling the tongue the hardest thing to do (James 3:2-8)

Get An Alignment
Can cause tires to go bad, and vibrations and other problems.
Align your hearts into the love of God (2 Thessalonians 3:5).
It is easy to get side tracked in this world.
Remedy is found in Philippians 4:8
Align yourself with God and not the world (James 4:4)

CONCLUSION
We all can know the importance and necessity of keeping our vehicles in top notch running performance.
We know it is safer and safer for our loved ones.
Our soul also needs to be maintained in similar fashion.
Do you need to winterize your soul?
