CALL AND FIND OUT

INTRO:

1. Telephone systems work through a central control.

2. The central control system that we want to use in this lesson is the New Testament.

3. In other words, all questions will be answered by central control.

4. So we will proceed to dial the number listed in the directory in order to get the desired answer.

Q. "Is the Bible inspired and sufficient for our salvation?"
A. Dial: -- 2 Tim. 3:16,17; Jas. 1:21.

Q. "Should each one of us study the Bible or just hire a preacher to study it for us?"
A. Dial: -- 2 Tim. 2:15; Acts 17:11.

Q. "What will happen to me if I follow the teachings of men and do not study the Bible for myself?"
A. Dial: -- Matt. 15:9,14; 1 Jno. 4:1.

Q. "Does Christ say that He has a church?"
A. Dial: -- Matt. 16:18; Rom. 16:16.

Q. "Is this one church mentioned in Matt. 16:18 made up of all the denominations in the world or is it made up of individual Christians?"
A. Dial: -- Jno. 15:4-6.

Q. "How does one become a member of this church?"
A. Dial: -- Heb. 11:6; Rom. 10:17; Lk. 13:3; Rom. 10:10; Acts 2:38,47.

Q. "Is the church of Christ really the body of Christ?"
A. Dial: -- Eph. 1:22,23; 4:4; Col. 1:18,24; 1 Cor. 12:20.

Q. "Is Christ the Savior of the church?"
A. Dial: -- Eph. 5:23.

Q. "Is baptism really necessary to one's salvation?"
A. Dial: -- Matt. 28:19; Mk. 16:;16; Acts 2:38; 10:48; 22:16; 1 Cor. 12:13; Rom. 6:3- 5; Gal. 3:26,27; 1 Pet. 3:21.

Q. "I was sprinkled some years ago, is that baptism?"
A. Dial: -- Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12.

Q. "Who is the head of the church?"
A. Dial: -- Eph. 1:22; 5:23.

Q. "Who is the foundation of the church?"
A. Dial: -- 1 Cor. 3:11.

Q. "What about the seven churches of Asia mentioned in Revelation, weren't they denominations?"
A. Dial: -- The Book of Acts and Paul's Epistles and you will find Paul, directly or indirectly starting all of those churches. What he preached in one he could acceptably preach in all the others. They were all churches of Christ just in different locations.

Q. "If I become a member of the church of Christ, will I have to attend every service of the church that I possibly can?"
A. Dial: -- Acts 2:42; Heb. 10:25.

Q. "But if I become a member of the church of Christ won't I be turning my back upon my relatives who belong to denominations?"
A. Dial: -- Matt. 10:37,38.

Q. "I was baptized into a denomination years ago, will my baptism be alright in becoming a member of the church of Christ?"
A. Dial: -- Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 Pet. 3:21. One cannot be baptized for the wrong purpose and serve God in the right purpose. Things must be right and Scriptural from the very beginning.

Q. "How much should I know before I become a member of the church of Christ?"
A. Dial: -- Acts 16:30-34; Heb. 5:11-14.

Q. "If I do become a member of the church of Christ, does that mean that I won't have to worry about sinning anymore or falling away?"
A. Dial: -- 1 Cor. 10:12; 2 Cor. 1:10; Heb. 3:12-14.

Q. "The Bible says love the Lord with all your heart, soul and strength; how can I know if I love Him this way?"
A. Dial: -- Jno. 14:15.

Q. "If I know that I should obey the Lord and I do not do it, am I sinning?"
A. Dial: -- Jas. 4:17.

Q. "Would it be wrong for me to put off my obedience until some other day?"
A. Dial: -- Heb. 3:15; 2 Cor. 6:2.

CONCLUSION:

1. There is no end to the questions that could be asked such as these and answered as readily from the New Testament.

2. But are you ready to accept the Bible answers to your questions?

3. I hope that you are and you will begin to accept these answers even today.
