Anyone Can Be Saved
“Moses said that a person could become acceptable to God by obeying
the Law. He did this when he wrote, ‘If you want to live, you must do
all that the Law commands’.” Romans 10:5 (CEV)
The problem with most people is that they do not want to do all that the Law
commands. We are commanded to trust the Lord and to have faith in Jesus and
to do what the scriptures command.
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is necessary for salvation to occur. You cannot
be saved without such faith. Yet faith alone does nothing for you. Just to say
you believe in Jesus without showing any external actions to prove you believe
in Jesus is a big waste of time, and can be quite deceiving to others. You call
yourself a Christian, but how do you prove it. To God, to others, to yourself?
So many people claim to have this faith, yet their actions are of the world
and are worldly rather than spiritual.
The person who believes on the Lord and confesses His holy name is the one that
obeys Him and keeps His commandments. This is how we prove that we have faith.
Now we also recognize that the Law that Moses was talking about was the covenant
called the Mosaic covenant. This includes the “Ten Commandments”
as well as all the statutes, ordinances, and laws given to the Jewish people.
Even though we are under a different law today, we are still responsible to
keep the commandments of God faithfully. Those commandments are recorded in
the Holy Bible.
“The Scriptures say that no one who has faith will be disappointed,
no matter if that person is a Jew or a Gentile. There is only one LORD, and
He is generous to everyone who asks for His help.” Romans 10:11-12
(CEV)
Now when the New Testament mentions the Jews, we must remember that many of
the early Christians came from a Jewish heritage. What we must learn is that
our heritage does not qualify us for God’s acceptance. It is our faithful
obedience that does that.
We want to encourage you to seek God and learn to serve Him. Learn about the
righteousness that God asks everyone to do, and then just do it. You are the
only obstacle that keeps you from doing this. If you need help, we are ready
to help you on your pathway towards Heaven.
God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). You must believe
that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37).
You must repent of your sins (Luke 13:3), you must confess
Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and you must be baptized for the remission
of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then you must remain faithful and continue
learning how to serve God (2 Peter 3:18). Let us help you on your spiritual
journey. May God bless you in your study of His word.
