The Bible Is Not A Mystery
But it is to many people. That is because many people do not appreciate the Bible or do not try to understand the Bible. There are many people who tell you that you can only understand the Bible when you can master the codes and numerology of the ancient writings. My advise is to run from anyone who tells you that there are secret messages and hidden codes in the Bible. These people are only trying to get you to buy their book and make money off of your ignorance.
The Bible is simple enough to understand, but in order for a person to understand it, they must be willing to let the Bible speak to them. They must recognize the Bible is the word of God, and they must be willing to be honest enough to admit error in their lives when the scriptures describe what sin is. One must also be willing to put their own selfish desires aside to learn what God wants from them.
At one time the message of God was a mystery, but it was revealed to mankind through the apostles, through the Christ, through the Holy Spirit of God. The apostle Paul wrote that the revelation of the mystery has been made known through the scriptures and the preaching of the prophets that spoke according to the command of God (Romans 16:25-26). He also wrote to the Ephesians that the salvation of God was a mystery at one time, but now is not a mystery. The reason that it was a mystery is that the promise of the Messiah gave hints of how wonderful the new kingdom would be. When Jesus Christ came and lived and died, and established His church, there was no longer a need for it to be a mystery. Everything God wants us to know about eternal life and salvation has been given to us via His word (2 Peter 1:3) Peter says that this understanding comes through the knowledge of Christ.
One of the greatest prayers we can pray is that people will be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10)
The Bible is certainly not a mystery anymore.
We know that God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37). You must repent of your sins (Luke 13:3), you must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and you must be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then you must remain faithful and continue learning how to serve God (2 Peter 3:18). Let us help you on your spiritual journey. May God bless you in your study of His word.
