Matthew 19:9
(KJV) And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it
be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso
marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
(NIV) I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital
unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
(RSV) And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for
unchastity, and marries another, commits adultery."
(NASB) "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for
immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."
(CEV) I say that if your wife has not committed some terrible sexual
sin, you must not divorce her to marry someone else. If you do, you are
unfaithful.
(EVD) I tell you that any person who divorces his wife and marries
another woman is guilty of the sin of adultery. The only reason for a person to
divorce and marry again is if his first wife had sexual relations with another
man.
