SCRIPTURAL WORK OF THE CHURCH.

. As has been said in the very beginning of these various lessons on the various aspects of being Scriptural in ORGANIZATION, and WORSHIP, to be SCRIPTURAL is to be authorized in what we do and that authorization comes from the Scriptures. Such does so, by Direct Command, Approved Apostolic Example, and Necessary Inference. Direct Command is such as found in Acts 10:48. Approved Apostolic Example is such as found in Acts 20:7. Necessary Inference is such as found in Acts 8:35,36. If we cannot find a thing taught in the New Testament by one or more of these three ways, then we have no authority for doing such.

SCRIPTURAL WORK OF THE CHURCH.

The church of our Lord is upon this earth to do specified works and it is fully and sufficiently able to carry out such given works without any outside aid or interference. Note the following scriptures: Eph. 1:20-23; 3:10, 11, 20,21; Col. 1:16-l9.

CONCLUSION: Truly, the Lord's church has a specified work to be engaged in upon this earth, and it is sufficiently able to carry out the work that has been assigned to it by the Lord.

The pattern of the work is detailed and clear for those that love the church and respect the authority of the Word of God.

But, to those that become presumptious and fail to heed the clear-cut pattern, all lines of demarcation become blurred. The whole problem among brethren, concerning the work of the church, stems from the lack of respect for the authority of God in His Word.
