WIVES OF ELDERS AND DEACONS ARE ALSO ADDRESSED IN THIS CONTEXT OF QUALIFICATIONS OF ELDERS AND DEACONS.

1 Tim. 3:11.

IT IS SAID THAT THEY SHOULD BE::

These qualifications, along with all the other 'positive' and 'negative' qualifications that we have named before are to be possessed by all God fearing women. Young ladies should seek as their goal in life, to be the wife of one who desires to be an elder or deacon in the Lord's church and help him to accomplish such honor. A good God-fearing, humble, quiet, chaste, obedient wife and mother in the home of such a man enhances his chances to become such an elder or deacon.

Note: Before we turn to the SCRIPTURAL WORSHIP IN THE CHURCH, I feel that we should discuss the qualifications and work of an EVANGELIST. In Eph. 4:11-13 we are told that Christ set in His church certain ones for certain purposes: "He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers." Eph. 4:11. The place of apostles and prophets were to be temporary in nature until the written Word of God, the New Testament, was in place in the churches. But the work of evangelists, pastors and teachers would continue. Therefore, since we have discussed elders and deacons in the SCRIPURAL ORGANIZATION OF THE CHURCH, it behooves us to also discuss the work of EVANGELISTS.
