God Requires Three Things From
You
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require
of you, but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8
God has told us what is good. He has spoken through Jesus Christ via the apostles
and Holy Spirit which resulted in our Holy Bible. Many people think they can
find a magic formula or some hidden code in the bible, but the truth is that
God’s word is simple to understand if you have a heart willing to serve
Him.
Of the three things this passage mentions, realize that they are mostly generic
in form. The first quality mentioned is to do justice. This simply means to
treat your fellow man like you would want to be treated. This is what we call
the golden rule. Jesus taught us that God should always be first, and others
second and finally ourselves last. When we do right by others and for others,
we are being just. This is what the Greek word for righteousness means. Both
parties in a relationship are doing right for each other. God does His part,
and we do our part, we have righteousness. But when we fail to keep our part,
we sin against God, and cannot be considered righteous.
We also need to show affection for acts of kindness. Not only is it good when
we are kind to others, but we need to show appreciation for others who are kind
to others. When everybody gets on board and everybody treats each other right
and fairly, our world will be much better. The only thing stopping these acts
of kindness is the selfishness of people who do not care about others, but only
care about themselves.
Finally, to walk humbly before God is to obey Him, and keep His commandments.
While you may think that there are major obstacles to overcome in order to become
a Christian, the truth is that you are the only obstacle in front of you. Anyone
who wants to become a Christian may do so.
Let us assist you in finding the truth pathway towards righteousness. Let us
help you to be just, kind and humble. The end result will be the salvation of
your soul. Otherwise, you can expect to face God in judgment, unprepared and
in shame, and face your eternal destiny in everlasting darkness in a very unpleasant
place called Hell.
God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). You must believe that Jesus
is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37). You must
repent of your sins (Luke 13:3), you must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32)
and you must be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then
you must remain faithful and continue learning how to serve God (2 Peter 3:18).
Let us help you on your spiritual journey. May God bless you in your study of
His word.
