That Glorious Tree
“Israel, give up your idols! I will answer your prayers and take care of you. I am that glorious tree, the source of your fruit. If you are wise, you will know and understand what I mean. I am the LORD, and I lead you along the right path. If you obey me, we will walk together, but if you are wicked, you will stumble." Hosea 14:8-9 (CEV).
Please, take the time to read the entire fourteenth chapter of Hosea. The prophet of God was giving God’s chosen people some advise that they needed. This is a message that rings just as true today as back then. The source of all blessings is God, and too many people have wandered away from Him. He has provided for us all things good, and yet people still live in wicked ways. If we will turn to the Lord, He will bless us.
The Lord does not deceive us. His word leads us in the right path, if we will just follow the directions. A problem exists when preachers keep changing the directions from God and put their own maps, and signs up for people to follow. The Israelites had the same problem back then. Their spiritual leaders had turned away from God’s ways and were doing what the people wanted and what others told them to do. They should have stayed in the path of God’s direction.
As a result, God gave up on His people and allowed them to perish, and be destroyed.
If you continue in wicked ways, God will give up on you as well, and you will be everlastingly punished. We implore you and beg you to return to the Lord and seek to do His ways, for they are the only ways that will be for our benefit.
But remember, no matter how bad or wicked you have been, God is still willing to accept you if you turn to Him. Turn from your evil ways, stop doing that which is wrong, and God will bless you.
“But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin”. 1 John 1:7
We know that God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37). You must repent of your sins (Luke 13:3), you must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and you must be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then you must remain faithful and continue learning how to serve God (2 Peter 3:18). Let us help you on your spiritual journey. May God bless you in your study of His word.
