You lose your dog, and offer a reward. Next thing you know, people are showing
up on
your doorstep and asking for the reward. One says he found your dog, and wants
the reward. You ask, where is my dog, and he says that he let it go. Do you
pay him?
One says he only thought he found the dog, but was not sure. Do you pay him?
One says he did not believe you had a dog but wanted the reward anyway. Do you
pay him?
Another comes to your door and brings a cat, and asks for the reward. Do you
pay?
Another comes to your door and brings a dog, but it is brown. Your dog is white,
do you pay them?
Even if someone comes to your door with the correct breed, still you will not
pay the reward until YOUR dog is brought home. Most people are very precise
about this.
Why is it people will think that any form of religion will be acceptable to
God. God has told us in The Bible how we are to worship Him. Why do people think
they can worship any way that suits them, and expect to be rewarded by God?
The Bible is very specific about the way we are to serve our God. Most people
ignore what is written in the word, but still want the reward that is only promised
to the faithful. We know that God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9).
We must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the
cross
for our sins. (Acts 8:37). We must repent of our sins (Luke
13:3) we must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and we
must be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16).
Then we must remain faithful and continue learning (2 Peter
3:18). Let us help you on your spiritual journey.
May God bless you in your study of His word.
