Can you work hard to teach someone the gospel and not see any results, then continue on to another person with the same determination (Matt. 7:13-21; 1 Cor. 3:5-15)?
Are you able to hear criticism about you or your family and not be bitter and defensive (1 Cor. 6:5-10)?
Do you help others without expecting to be paid back (Matt. 7:12)?
Can you see someone, with less ability than you, trying to serve the Lord, without thinking of how much better you could have done the same thing (Prov. 16:18)?
Can you be hurt by something someone said and just keep it to yourself, so as to not hurt others (Matt. 5:23-24; Matt. 18:15-17)?
Can you listen to a Bible lesson from a dull speaker and get some good from it (1 Cor. 4:6; Ps. 1:1-6; 119:104,105)?
Do you forgive those who make mistakes repeatedly (Matt. 18:21)?
When someone else is chosen to do something that you could have done, do you feel bad (Rom. 12:10)?
Can you rejoice at another’s good fortune while you are “down on your luck” (Rom. 12:10, 15)?”
Can you do a good deed that no one saw and not tell someone about it later (Matt. 6:1-8)?
Do you ever tell a person gossiping to stop it? Do you refuse to listen to gossip (Prov. 6:16; Mall. 12:37; Eph.4:29-32; Rom. 14:19)?
Are you able to teach another how to become a Christian (2 Tim. 2:2; Matt. 28:20; Heb. 5:12-14; Acts8:4)?
Do you see yourself as an integral (essential) part of the congregation?
Do you speak of what “they” are doing, or what “we” are doing (Acts 9:19-22, 26-28)?
Would you continue to faithfully serve God if all others quit (2 Tim. 4:6-10)?
Do you give liberally of your earnings to the Lord (1 Cor. 16:1-2; 2 Cor. 8 & 9; Phil. 4:15-19)?
Do you attend all of the assemblies of the congregation (Acts 20:6-7; Heb. 10:23-31; 1 Cor. 12:12-27; 1 Thess. 5:11-21; Eph. 4:11-16)?
Do you read your Bible daily (Acts 17:11; 1 Tim.4:13,16; 2 Tim. 2:15)?
Do you pray daily (1 Thess. 5:17; Luke 18:1)?
Can your word always be depended on (Lev. 19:11; Col. 3:9)?
Do you try to control your tongue (James 3:2-18; Matt. 12:37)?
Do you try to control where you go, what you do, what you see and what you hear (Matthew 5:13-16; Galatians 5:16-21; 1 Cor. 6:9-10, 19-20)?
Do you try to control your thoughts (Matt. 15:18-20; Phil. 4:6-8)?
Can you defend what you believe on all matters of “the faith”(l Peter 3:15; Phil. 1:7; 2 Tim. 4:1-5; 2 Cor. 10:2-6; 1 Peter 3:15))?
Are you willing to make adjustments when your faults and shortcomings are pointed out?
