Many of us remember the days when people were ashamed if the knowledge got
out about something they had done. There are many things that a short while
ago, people would be ashamed about. A divorced person was looked down upon in
society, and there would be a sense of shame associated with that. There was
shame associated with having a part of your body exposed. Nowadays they call
it a wardrobe malfunction. There are men and women going about in public that
reveal so much of their bodies that it is obvious there is no shame in their
hearts. It used to be that being a homosexual or lesbian would be a shameful
thing. Now, they get out and parade in towns all across America and exhibit
no shame at all.
One of the reasons that people have developed this callousness towards modesty
and propriety is because they have no fear of God. Psalm 36:1-2 reads: “Transgression
speaks to the ungodly within his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.
For it flatters him in his own eyes, concerning the discovery of his iniquity
and the hatred of it.”
Many people today do not fear the God of heaven. They do not respect Him, nor
do they follow His word found in the Bible. These people constantly move about
feeling the supposed freedom of sin, all the while forgetting the consequences
of such sins, and forgetting the judgment to come.
Jeremiah 6:15 reads: “were they ashamed because of the abomination
they have done? They were not even ashamed at all; they did not even know how
to blush…” Parents have failed to teach their children
modesty and shamefacedness (look it up in a dictionary if you don’t know
what this is). How did it get to this point? God answers through Jeremiah 6:21:
“…Because they have not listened to My words, and as for
My law, they have rejected it also”.
Our society as a whole bombards us with sex, sex, and more sex. The media pushes
alternative lifestyles, and children not taught the word of God will not know
whether these are right or moral. Just look how far Television has come in the
last few decades. Things seen or words spoken today would have been edited or
bleeped out in the past.
Not only is immorality rampant on your cable channels, but it is creeping into
the major networks daily. No, it is not creeping; it is being pushed upon us.
Truly there is an animosity towards God and His word portrayed in most of the
media. There is a constant attempt to incite hated of Christians in many areas
of our society.
Those who continue in immorality will not go to heaven. Only those who put immorality
in the past tense, and fill their lives with the word of God will go to heaven.
God does not want any to perish or lose their souls in torment of darkness forever,
so God made a provision for us by sending His Son to die on the cross for our
sins. To be saved one must believe in the Christ, Repent of their sins, and
Confess Christ before man, and be baptized for the remission of sins, then live
a life dedicated to God and Christ for the rest of your life.
Let us help you overcome the immodesty and immorality that the world embraces.
If you want to go to heaven, you must give up the world. Those who do not give
up the world and what it offers become enemies of God (James 4:4) Let us show
you how to be a true Christian.
