A New Revelation From God?

The doctrines that come from the mind of man are not in accordance with the teachings of the Bible. The Bible tells us that God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). The Bible comes from God, so if one were to follow the Bible, there would not be any confusion. The problem lies in the fact that many people do not like what is in the Bible, so they change it to fit their desires. One way they do this is to suggest that “God spoke to them” or “God put it on my heart” or something like that. In other words, they have been given a “new revelation”.

Have you noticed that every time that someone gives a “new revelation” (supposedly from God?) that the message is different from what God has already spoken in His word? The Bible tells us that God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). 2 Peter 1:3 tells us that everything we need pertaining to salvation and how to live has been given to us in the scriptures. For some people, they could care less if they are living as God would have them live. For most people, they want to live like they want to live and no God is going to make them do otherwise. They will perish in their arrogance, pride, and sin.
So when we follow man’s teachings, or seek some new message we have to know, and the Bible confirms this, the messages are not from God, and thus many people become confused. They are confused because the people who present the new revelations also tell the people that the Bible is the word of God. But as people read God’s word, then hear a different message, who are they going to believe? Seek the old paths wherein is righteousness (Jeremiah 6:16) and dwell in God’s word, the Bible.

The only way to resolve the present confusion in the religious world is to turn back to the Bible and follow its teachings and the commandments that come from God. This means that many may have to reject the traditions that they have so long enjoyed. After all, the Bible is going to be one of the books that judge us in the end. We will not be judged by something not written in Heaven. Also remember, that the gospel message that was preached in the first century was confirmed by signs and wonders. 1 John 4:1 tells us to test the spirits to see if they are from God. The apostle Paul commended the Bereans (Acts 17:11) because they received the word with all readiness and searched the scriptures daily to see if the things spoken were so. Why do we give these people who bring ‘new revelations’ a free pass? Why don’t we challenge them? Ask them to heal someone you know to prove that the word they have presented is from God. Ask them why if this “new revelation” was so important, why it was not recorded in the Bible for all mankind to learn in the first place.
Souls are at stake, so it is very important to decide which path one will follow. You can choose the path of God (Psalm 119:105) or the precepts of men. To follow man is to fail God. We are sure you do not want to fail God, so let us help you on the right path.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, (Acts 16:31). Repent of your sins (Acts 8:22). Confess His name (Romans 10:9-10) Be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:15-16). Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10). May God bless you in your study of His word.
