The Christian View Of Homosexuality

News was made this week when our President and the Attorney General announced in a news broadcast that they would not defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) law. Despite the fact that both of them took oaths to the effect of defending the Constitution of the United States, and to uphold and defend all its laws. It should not surprise us that they have done this, because there are other laws to which they have been selective in enforcing. Arizona passed a law which would have required the Federal government to uphold the laws that were already on the record. We see how that turned out.

The agenda of the homosexual community has been one of forcing the rest of us to accept their lifestyle. To them it is not only a lifestyle that they want to participate in, but they feel they should ram it down our throats and force us to accept it, and force our children to be exposed to it. They use the freedom of speech clause to declare their rights and force us to accept those rights. Yet, when we exercise our freedom of speech to speak from the Bible, we are charged with hate speech. Does God speak hate? No. God only reveals to us through the Bible that certain behaviors are not acceptable to God. Homosexuals have rights in our human world, and while many of us will not participate, we will allow them the right to practice what we would not do.

We who believe in the Bible know that one day everyone will stand before God to give an account of their life and the deeds that they have done in the body (Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10).

If they want to practice homosexuality, that is their business, and they will have to answer to God for it. Those of us who do not do this just ask that they quit trying to push it upon us.

We who are true Christians, out of concern for these souls, will warn that such behavior is not acceptable to God, and on judgment day, those who practice homosexuality will be condemned by God. In fact not just homosexuals, but everyone who allows sin to rule their life. Revelation 21:8 reads that the cowardly and the unbelievers and the murderers, and all immoral people and those who practice witchcraft and sorcery and idolaters and covetous persons and finally all liars will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.

If true Christians did not care about the souls of these people, they would just sit back and say that God will get them one day. But true Christians are to have compassion upon others and demonstrate love towards others, so it becomes our duty to warn those who sin that God has a day approaching where He will judge the righteous and the wicked, and send both groups to their respective rewards.

We must stand up and come out of the closet. All of us. Because we have just as much right to believe God as these others have their human right to not believe in God. So let us take courage to stand up for God, and speak what God wants us to speak.

We must teach that for one to be saved so as to enjoy Heaven in the presence of God, they must believe on the Christ as the Son of God and Savior of mankind, they must turn from their sins and start living for Christ in repentance and they must confess and acknowledge their trust in Christ. Then they must be baptized to wash away the sins, and live the rest of their lives the way God wants them to live.
