Walking In Newness Of Life

Week Three

Putting To Death Sin And The Old Self

Day Fifteen

[Remember to always begin your Bible study with prayer.]

1. Chapter five of Romans tells us of the wonderful grace that God through Christ has given us in forgiving us all our sins. It is important that we do not forget this. We should pray to God daily and thank Him for this wonderful gift. Read 1 John 3:4 and write down the definition of sin.

2. Some, however, have believed that since God has given us His grace, it does not matter if we sin. Turn and read Romans 6:1-14. Notice especially the words "dead" and "death". How do these words apply to us?

3. Read Romans 6:15-23. Now, can we continue to practice sin and still expect to receive the grace of God to be saved? Write down other lessons ydou learned from this text.

4. No one is sinless; not even the best Christian lives without sin (1 John 1:8-10). But God obviously will not tolerate our purposely sinning (Hebrews 10:26) and not being repentant of those sins. We must strive not to sin (1 John 2:1), and if we do sin we must ask God for forgiveness.

** Now is a good time to ask God for forgiveness of your sins.
